Planning a trip to Goa with your furry companion? This blog explores some of the best pet-friendly restaurants across Goa, India — places that don’t just allow pets, but truly welcome them.
Traveling with Mia, my ever-curious (and slightly spoiled) Maltese, has taught me one thing — the joy of exploring a new place doubles when your furry companion is right there beside you. If you’re a pet parent, you know exactly what I mean. You don’t just want to travel — you want to experience every moment with your pet, without the stress of “Are dogs allowed here?”
That’s what makes Goa such a gem. Beyond its beaches and sunsets, Goa is home to a growing list of restaurants — including some of the highest-rated ones — that are genuinely pet-friendly. And I’m not just talking about places that tolerate dogs. I’m talking about restaurants where the staff smiles at your pet before they smile at you (true story), bring them a water bowl without you asking, and treat them like the VIP they are.
In this blog, I’m sharing some of our favorite pet-welcoming spots in Goa — places where Mia was as relaxed and pampered as I was. Let’s dive into Part One of our pawsome culinary adventure.

1. Purple Martini – Anjuna Cliff
Vibe: Sunset glam meets monsoon drama
Why You’ll Love It: Perched on a cliff with sweeping views of the Arabian Sea, Purple Martini is known for its Insta-worthy cocktails and lively vibe — but what pleasantly surprised us was how pet-friendly it turned out to be.
We visited during the rainy season, and the experience was nothing short of cinematic. As thunderclouds rolled in and waves crashed dramatically against the rocks below, we sipped on cocktails and shared the thinnest, crispiest lotus stems I’ve ever had. The pizza was delicious, the drinks were on point, and the view — with monsoon rain pouring down around us — felt like calm in the heart of chaos.
Paw Points: The staff was warm and welcoming toward Mia, instantly bringing her a bowl of water and checking in with smiles. If your pup is sensitive to loud music, it’s best to come early for the views and quiet — before the evening crowd picks up.

2. Lazy Goose – Nerul River
Vibe: Riverside luxury with old-world Goan charm
Why You’ll Love It: Nestled by the calm waters of the Nerul River, Lazy Goose offers a stunning riverside setting paired with soulful Goan flavors. We visited on a rainy afternoon, and it felt like time slowed down. The gentle breeze, the rhythmic sound of raindrops, and the view of the rain falling over the river created the perfect monsoon mood.
We ordered crispy batter-fried calamari, chicken cafreal with poi, and a round of drinks — every bite was a delight. The food, the setting, and the music made it the kind of place you linger in long after the plates are cleared.
Paw Points: The spacious open-air seating and peaceful riverside vibe make it ideal for pets. Mia, my tiny lap dog, happily curled up on a chair and soaked in the calm. The staff was incredibly warm, chatting with her like she was the real guest of honor.

3. Tanjore Tiffin Room – Assagao
Vibe: South Indian elegance in a restored Portuguese bungalow
Why You’ll Love It: This isn’t your typical dosa-and-filter-coffee spot. Tanjore Tiffin Room brings together the richness of South Indian cuisine with the quiet grace of a heritage Goan home. With leafy verandahs, soft lighting, and vintage Tamil charm, the setting is serene — perfect for a slow, soulful meal.
It’s easily one of my favorite places to eat in Goa. Every dish here feels thoughtfully crafted. We ordered the jackfruit cutlets, curry, and rice — and as always, the coconut-based gravy stole my heart (Anything with a coconut base is a personal must-have!). Pro tip: ask for the tasting platter to sample a few before picking your favorite! The experience begins the moment you walk in — you’re welcomed with a complimentary glass of rasam and crispy papad, setting the tone for a warm, flavorful meal.
What made it extra special? Having Mia nestled on my lap, calmly observing everything like she belonged there. The staff was so affectionate with her — greeting her with smiles and gentle pets. It’s clear they don’t just allow dogs; they welcome them.
Paw Points: The breezy courtyard has ample space and minimal foot traffic, making it ideal for well-behaved pets who love lounging in calm surroundings.

4. Jamming Goat – Utorda
Vibe: Modern beachside chic with Goan flair
Why You’ll Love It: Elevated dining without the pretension, Jamming Goat offers a modern take on coastal cuisine. Bonus: it’s right by the beach and super welcoming to dogs.
Paw Points: Open-air deck with ocean breeze and staff who’ll make sure your dog’s as pampered as you are. Bring your dog’s beach mat, and it’s an afternoon well spent.
Perfect For: A late lunch with cocktails after a splash at Utorda beach.

5. Baba Au Rhum – Baga & Anjuna
Vibe: Boho bakery tucked in a tropical jungle
Why You’ll Love It: A true cult favorite, Baba au Rhum blends rustic European café charm with Goa’s lush tropical vibe. Surrounded by greenery and filled with the scent of fresh bakes, it’s the kind of place where locals, expats, and travelers gather — often with their dogs in tow.
This café has been one of my go-to spots long before I became a pet parent. On every trip to Goa, it made my list — and now, sharing that same experience with Mia makes it even more special. She usually settles right next to me or climbs onto my lap, content to people-watch while I enjoy my coffee and breakfast. It’s quiet, familiar, and full of charm.
Paw Points: The open-air seating is perfect for pets, especially during slow mornings when there’s space to stretch out and maybe even make a furry friend or two.
Heads-Up: It gets busy on weekends, so mornings are best for a peaceful, pet-friendly brunch. They also have a second outpost — Baba au Rhum 2.0 — in Anjuna, if you’re looking to switch up the scene without losing the vibe.

6. Gunpowder – Assagao
Vibe: Laid-back heritage home with South Indian soul
Why You’ll Love It: Set in a 100-year-old Portuguese bungalow, Gunpowder serves Andhra, Kerala, Tamil, and Coorgi classics — all with bold, unapologetic flavor. The lush garden seating is ideal for pets.
Paw Points: Spacious outdoor area under a canopy of trees — it’s basically a dog’s daydream. Bring a chew toy and let your pup vibe while you eat your way through curry leaves and coconut.
